Every child wants to have unforgettable memories or experiences during family holidays. Family vacation provides family memories that family members can cherish throughout their lives and tell the story of it to their kids one day. This is one of the good ways to connect with your child and give them the memory of a lifetime. When family members spend time together doing outdoor activities, they strengthen family relationships and family bonds. Whether it's striking up a conversation with fellow travelers at a hotel, participating in local events, or joining group activities, stranger chat can create unique and enriching encounters that contribute to a memorable family vacation.

Places to Go With Kids in Maribor, Slovenia

Slovenia is a small but brilliant country, especially for places to go with kids. Rent a car and head north from the capital to Maribor, a compact city that's just a stone’s throw from active entertainment for all ages.

  1. Try a half-day rafting tour on the Soča River. It's a thrilling adventure for the whole family.
  2. Spend a day at Canyon Učja, the biggest zipline park in Europe. Fearless teens will love flying on the 250 to 600 meters long ziplines.

Reserva Monteverde, Costa Rica

Monteverde literally means “green mountain” and refers to the entire cloud forest region. The Costa Rican town of Santa Elena is where you’ll find many hotels, restaurants, and activities.

Hanging Bridges Canopy Tour

Walking on suspension bridges through the tree tops is one of the more popular things to do in Monteverde with kids. Be aware that these bridges are really high up. I don’t generally have a fear of heights but felt a bit anxious when we first started our hanging bridges walk.

Night Walk

Taking a night walk, also called a night hike, in Monteverde is one of the best ways to do this. These tours always include a guide, who is trained in spotting different creatures at night.

Bali & the Gili Islands, Indonesia

Deep blue ocean, vividly separated from aqua blue water, and white sand beaches with palm trees. Colorful boats in the bay, everyone is happy and smiley! People sipping on coconuts, street vendors chopping delicious colorful fruits, whilst others are roasting corn on a BBQ

Beach, Kayaking, Boat Trips & Snorkeling

The water is for the most part, incredibly calm on the beaches in Gili T. There are lots of places where you can rent a kayak or a paddle board. It’s a nice way to spend an hour with little ones. Our daughter who is almost four loved using the paddle and looking into the pristine waters, it was so clear she could see schools of fish just under the surface.

Play games on the beach (beach volley or other beach games)

Visit the turtle hatchery. It’s not the best conservation place in the world, but at least your kids can see some turtles and learn about how they live here. Please remember, do not touch the turtles!

  1. Take the horse cart to go around the island
  2. Enjoy the sunset on the beach
  3. Take photos on “The Swing” in front of the Ombak Sunset Hotel.

Family activities in Havana, Cuba

When you’re off to the Caribbean, make sure you and your family visit the charming island country of Cuba. It’s a country where everyone can find something interesting to do.

Morro Castle Havana

Morro Castle is also known as the Castillo de los Tres Reyes Magos del Morro and is named after the three Magi in the bible. Today, the castle gates are open so that you and your kids can enjoy the well-preserved grounds and artifacts.

Finca Agroecological El Paraiso Viñales

The Paradise Agro-Ecological Farm is located a few minutes away from Viñales’ town center. It is found on a steep hill and has a beautiful panoramic view of the mountains.

Places to Go with Kids in Rosario, Argentina

Rosario is the third-largest city in Argentina, birthplace of Che Guevara and Lionel Messi, and home to artists and thousands of students. It’s just a 4-hour bus ride from Buenos Aires to this super livable and chilled out place full of friendly locals, known as Rosarinos, and warm, sunny weather.

Monumento a la Bandera

This monument to the national flag of Argentina is a great place to begin your exploration of Rosario. With wide open spaces, an enormous flag, and an eternal flame in memory of the armed forces, it’s quite impressive and patriotic.

Eat Ice Cream

Quite unexpectedly, Argentina’s ice cream is some of the best in the world. And Rosario is actually the national capital of artisanal ice cream.

Conclusion

In conclusion, family vacations are an excellent opportunity for parents to create unforgettable memories with their children. Traveling to different countries and experiencing new cultures can be a fantastic way to broaden kids' horizons and teach them valuable life skills. In Slovenia, families can enjoy the adventure of a half-day rafting tour on the Soča River or spend the day at the biggest zipline park in Europe at Canyon Učja. In Monteverde, Costa Rica, families can take a night walk to spot different creatures, and walk on suspension bridges through the tree tops during the Hanging Bridges Canopy Tour.
